7 mistakes you should never do on internet and social media
Everything is digital today. Everything is going to its next
version. Hackers and data thieves are also going to next level and data is a
huge business now. So our security should be also of next level.
And here you go with “7 mistakes you should never do on
internet and social media. “
Following internet and social media mistakes you should
never do.
1. USE OF UNSAFE WEBSITES:
As we know everything is got digital. For doing small things
from sharing photos to fill forms we have to visit many .websites But you
should stay alert from hackers. For that be aware from unsafe websites. Unsafe
websites can use your data and use it without your permission.
To avoid this, use that website that comes with domain-“https://”.Here
“s” stands for secure. If you are using website on your browser, the browser shows
lock sign before URL as shown above. So always stay secure.
Mail is used for many official works, from verification to
send job resume, mail is everything. But biggest problem associated with mail
is spam. Spam sometimes just for marketing purpose but it become more serious
when it get access to your data.
A mail saying “you won 200000 dollars in a lucky contest.to
redeem your prize send us your details.” Just add this type of mails to your
spam folders and blacklist. Don’t respond these emails and stay safe.
3. USING SAME PASSWORD FOR MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS:
The minimum requirements to access your online accounts is
your username/mob.no/mail id and a password. Your mail id or username or
mob.no. Is not a big task to access. Anyone can easily get access to these
things.
And in this condition anyone got your one account’s password
and if you have same password for every account then all your data can be stolen.
So to avoid this don’t use same password for every account.
4. SHARING YOUR DETAILS TO UNKNOWN SOURCES:
When you visit a website that requires your details to open and
offering some deals that “get 100 rs paytm cash free just click here and fill
these details” all of these kind are fake things.
It is just created for accessing too much people’s mass data
and sell it into black market. Then your details can be used in anything, from
getting number of notifications to to anonymous calls.
So never share your
personal details on the web. It’s better to be unknown on the web.
5. USING PUBLIC WIFI WITHOUT THINKING ABOU PRIVACY:
Lot of people use public Wi-Fi even if they have their own
mobile internet but sometimes they don’t.
If you are using public Wi-Fi, think twice before it. Ask
few questions to yourself. If it is really public Wi-Fi and is it secure and
you really need this or not.
Sometimes the data hungry hackers provide free Wi-Fi to
people but require to fill your details and info to use it. So be aware of such Wi-Fi , always use Wi-Fi
with two step authentication and be secure.
6. SEARCHING YOUR PERSONAL DETAILS:
As we discussed above, the most important part in your
online security is your personal data. If you are fan of “what happens when I type
my name on Google”. Then stop doing this from now.
Never type your name on Google or any search engine. There are
a lot chances that anyone can get access to your past web searches and have
your details.
So make it habit to
not type your details in browser and clear all history.
Some people just skip using two step authentication while
opening new account .because it takes some time .But it is secure process and
never skip it.
That means if some
got your password still he can’t open your account, because it will need
another security parameter like mob.no. Or anything else.
So it is always beneficial to be double secure.
BONUS TIPS:
·
TAKING PART INTO
ARGUMENTS :
Guys this is not a technical part, but this is a mistake
which lot of people do on social media. During an argument, especially religious argument, people do Post hampering on someone’s faith or feelings. But
this can lead to serious consequences in future.
Recent example of this is the public attack in Delhi. The
people who have posted the suspicious and argument creating rumours, police is
identifying that accounts and taking serious action on these people.
Sometimes someone share a post on your family or whatsapp/Facebook
group and you don’t know anything about it … just due to your religious
feelings or something else you share it.
But this can lead to severe impact on social environment. Many
people have lost their lives just due to rumours created by sharing an
absolutely wrong post and people believe it as true and share a lot.
The masterminds behind it try to hamper on your ego, religion,
and use the high authority symbols and signatures on their post just to look it
as true post. So be aware of such things.
